Sneak Peek from E-Session#2
I think I'm in love with my photographer. *Just kidding!!!!* But seriously. If a girl was single, and someone makes her look this good in the pictures.....
Anyway, these pictures were taken at the Historic El Pueblo District, Bradbury Building, and Union Station in downtown LA. We had so much fun that we stayed 2.5 hours over, and finally wrapped the day with a nice dinner at TOT in Little Tokyo! I must say.... to anyone who's engaged, E-Session.is.a.must! And this guy, Lawrence.... well... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Beautiful In My Eyes by Kadison Joshua
You're my peace of mind in this crazy world.
You're everything I've tried to find, your love is a pearl.
You're my Mona Lisa, you're my rainbow skies,
and my only prayer is that you realize
you'll always be beautiful in my eyes.
The world will turn, and the seasons will change,
and all the lesson we will learn will be beautiful and strange.
We'll have our fill of tears, our share of sighs.
My only prayer is that you realize
you'll always be beautiful in my eyes.
You will always be beautiful in my eyes.
And the passing years will show
that you will always grow ever more beautiful in my eyes.
When there are lines upon my face from a lifetime of smiles,
when the time comes to embrace for one long last while,
we can laugh about how time really flies.
We won't say goodbye 'cause true love never dies.
You'll always be beautiful in my eyes.
You will always be beautiful in my eyes.
And the passing years will show
that you will always grow ever more beautiful in my eyes.
The passing years will show that y
you will always grow
ever more beautiful in my eyes.

Chair Decoration DIY
Remember how I was thinking of having the hanging favor box on the chair instead of having the chair covers? Here are some different ideas for the decor:
1. Hang dried wheat on a bow on the back center of the table
2. Hang flowers
The above 2 options end up to be more expensive that I want it to be.... I need the decoration for each chair to be under a dollar. So.. as my creative side of the brain works better on Fridays, I came up with this idea from this image:
So... to modify it a bit to serve our purpose as a hanging chair decoration, here is a step by step guide of how to make it:
1. Make a cone out of paper doilies (these 8" doilies papers are about 5cents each from http://www.wrapwithus.com/favors/3_762-fx.html or 2 cents if you can buy in bulk from here http://www.mypapershop.com/500237.html)
2. Tie a ribbon around on the doilies so you can loop it into the back center of the chair.
3. Get a few bunches of baby's breath (you'll need about 3 stems of bb per cone, and it's around 10cents each stem if you buy in bulk.)
And voila! You're done. (I think.) I haven't actually tried to make these, but.... yeah. I think it's easy enough to do, don't you? I'm gonna try to do it this weekend :)

Arch Decoration
So I went to the florist yesterday, and thought... what else can I get rid of to reduce the cost? As we go through the list, there's this one line (actually there were quite a few) that I think we can cut. Particularly: Decoration for the entry arch.
Granted.. the reception place is beautiful on its own. There is a vintage dreamy looking arch on the entry way. It makes the place looks like how I imagined it would be in the book "Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Anyhow, I was thinking that we could decorate it with:"
Option 1: Flowers
Option 2: Crystal Lights
Or Option 3: Hanging "Wedding" Sign
Hmm.. am I getting too creative here? I guess I gotta figure out how tall the entry arch is before I start hanging things on it :D

Wedding Cake
I almost forgot! I'm in negotiation with the cake people now. I gotta tell you... for the cheapest cake I could find, they make the best cake that I have tasted during the whole "cake tasting" experience. Lets get through the checklist again:
Value *check*
Taste *check*
Reliability *check*
Nice design *check*
People, I think we have a winner.....
Here's a picture of something that we like for the wedding cake:
Actually I couldn't find an exact picture of the cake I wanted, but this one is pretty close. Except: I want it to be white music notes on white cake, and Mr. B wants it to be square. Aaaaaa it's gonna be so nice :)
I.love.Little.Saigon.... :)

Video
So, Mr B finally puts his foot down regarding the videographer. The winner: Non-HD :)
Considering the value, the quality of the work and professionalism that they've portrayed, there is no way we can go wrong with them. Thanks Mr. B for being so rational all the time! And thanks for being so patient with me even though I change my mind a the thousand time a day.

Centerpiece Alternative
Are candle centerpieces less costly than flowers?I like the idea of this. You can make it in advance, put more personalized touch into it, and *hopefully* save a few cents along the way. What do you think?
Wedding Videography
Is it important to do the wedding video in HD quality? I was already set on selecting my videographer last week, but I talked to a fellow bride-to-be in the weekend and now I'm back to square one... I don't know what to do. HD or non HD? Is HD video important enough for me to spend that much more? And, if I decide to follow on her footstep and get the raw footage HD video only (and get it edited somewhere else), how much more will I need to spend to get the video edited later on?
By the way, is it rude to ask other brides what they spend on their wedding stuff? I'm always on the fence when it comes to asking people about money matter.
Hmm... I'm so glad I have this blog so I can rant and brainstorm through these ideas. I think in the end I will go with my first choice since I already got a pretty nice DVD, full coverage, edited cinematic style DVD, for a great price... even if it's non HD. After all, my theme is Vintage Broadway, right?! With this theme, if I could go all out on the wedding video, I would get the super 8 dvd like these lovelies from Weddings By Two: http://www.weddingsbytwo.com/motion_picture/index.html
Decision, decision. Why art thou so hard to make?

Engagement Session
I recently had my engagement pictures taken, and I have to tell you... I had so much fun with the photographer. He really made us feel comfortable and he's truly a NICE guy. We just got the digital prints on Saturday, andddd...... I love it! Hehehe.. we're gonna have another engagement session on Feb 22, and I'm so looking forward to it. Can't wait!
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the session.
I gotta tell you.. it takes really talented people to make us look like this in the pictures :) I had my make up done by Fransiska Subroto and the pictures are by Lawrence at Harvard Photography. I was kinda nervous before the session because I didn't know if we would click with the photographer and how good will his pictures turn out with us as the models. But NOW I know for sure that we chose the right person to capture our wedding.
